  32. sir lorentry force application konse module me he
    6 years ago by narayan kalani
    Ans 1 ->
    you just need to know the formula F= q(V x B) so if a charge q is moving along x axis and magnetic field is along y axis it will experience a force F along z axis using right hand thumb rule. the magnitude of the force F will be qVB as angle between V and B is 90 degrees and sin 90 is 1
    6 years ago by ABHISHEK SHANKAR
    Ans 2 ->
    the only application of lorentz force is a cyclotron.. a cyclotron accelerates a positively charged particle to very high energy levels....using lorentz force.. you can read up about it. it is important from cbse board exam point of view....

  38. sir, My question is the particle moves along the direction of force vector as shown in module-3(direction of magnetic force on a moving charge) there is a displacement of particle so there should be workdone by particle
    7 years ago by
    Ans 1 ->
    particle is not moving along direction force vector...particle is moving along the direction of velocity vector... furthermore of a particle travels a distance dx in the magnetic field according to module 3 then F is perpendicular to dx so f.dx will be 0. hence we can conclude that force due to magnetic field on charge q only changes the direction of the charge and does not do any work on the charge, and velocity remains constant in a uniform magnetic field

  42. Sir when we rotate the loop by an angle theta the sides AB and CD also make angle theta with the field. then there will be some force acting on them as well. Would you explain as to what happens there? i am stuck with that part. and can we use right hand palm rule as the angle between field and current should be 90 which is not. so how do we calculate the force there? do we take the sine n cos components of those sides?
    7 years ago by Shrutika Mhamunkar
    Ans 1 ->
    You don't need to take any components for it... as these are in opposite direction and get cancelled... so no need worry about this part...

  44. sir i am not clear about the pitch calculation of different B values.why we are increasing n value by 1
    7 years ago by ariya
    Ans 1 ->
    After every pitch particle reaches the line parallel to axis... so if B1 and B2 are two successive values then n has to increase or decrease by 1...

    7 years ago by Kunal Mohapatra

  50. How is 2Tcostheta = lambda*g ??? forces are balanced wrongly. The tension in string is supporting the whole wire and not just a point.
    8 years ago by Rajat Bhadoria
    Ans 1 ->
    It does not make any difference when we solve the problem as units gets cancelled out in analysis... it is not affecting the final result... If you wish to explain it theoretically then yes you are right...

  52. sir the direction mentioned that is inwards is correct or not or the direction of applied shoud be reversed that is from right to left deflection to be inwards . hope u will clarify this doubt .
    8 years ago by rajat puri
    Ans 1 ->
    no brother if u use right hand palm rule as sir explained us in module 15 then palm face is in inward direction and hence force on wire is inward to the plane of screen.

  76. Sir there were some questions on this topic which I had to ask from HC Verma. A circular wire loop of radius a, carrying a current i, placed in a is placed in a perpendicular magnetic field B. Consider a small part dl of the wire. 1. Find the force on this part of the wire exerted by the magnetic field. 2. Find the force of compression in the wire. 3. Find the increase in the radius of the loop if the magnetic field is switched off and the Young's modulus of the material of the wire is Y. Sir please explain the method of getting the answer also.
