    As it is said that the ball was dropped thus its initial vel. =0 hence use 3rd eqn. Of motion and solve for it by putting a=g s=H u=0 and v=v1 in the eqn.

    4. i think question has to be more clear for 0.1 sec part it states that (ball takes 0.1 sec to fall and strikes ground) in this line it is not mentioned from where the ball has fallen from top or from window edges
