sir while deriving mirror or lens formula we already take into account the sign conventions. sir then why while solving problems we apply sign conventions again?

Ans 1 ->

Its so bcoz ... while deriving we considered a particular case and applied sign conventions therefore it gets generalised but when we again apply sign convention in the general formula we get the particualr case back.
