  18. why charge goes out if electric field exceeds breaking strength.
    9 years ago by hemanth goud
    Ans 1 ->
    because at that strength charge goes out from the body because that force start to make ions in the surrounding medium
    9 years ago by Abhijeet Shukla
    Ans 2 ->
    dielectric strength or breaking strength as u call it is the max value of electric field which a medium can withstand, after attaining this much electric field, the medium breaks down or as has been said above ions are made. and hence the electric discharge through the medium.
    9 years ago by ANURAG KAUSHIK
    Ans 3 ->
    what do u mean by electric discharge in medium i want to know why charge cant reside on body after the electricfield of surrounding exeeds breaking strenght.

  22. what is the difference between cell(battery) and capacitor
    9 years ago by shwetamber pathak
    Ans 1 ->
    battery can maintain a constant pd whereas the pd of a capacitor depends upon charge, moreover capacitor can store charge but battery cant.

  24. Is the capacitance of a conductor placed in vacuum is infinity?
    9 years ago by sudeep khare
    Ans 1 ->
    No. When a conductor is placed in vacuum the capacity to which it can be charged can be taken infinity if conductor metal strength is taken infinite... whereas the capacitance of body will be finite as it is the ratio of charge to potential difference of body wrt the reference... like a conducting sphere has capacitance 4(pi)(epsilon 0)R when placed in vacuum... but it can be charged to any extent depending upon its potential as in vacuum no breakdown takes place...
    9 years ago by Physics Galaxy
    Ans 2 ->
    no
