  8. sir if the rod is oscillating in horizontally normal to plane, how can g have a component gcos(theta) in this direction as g acts downward so gcos(90) must be zero. sir pls reply i m stuck here

    In this problem if you watch the video carefully you can see that restoring acceleration is not due to horizontal component of g... it is due to the component of the component of g which is acting along the instantaneous axis of rotation of Rod and bob...To understand Instantaneous Axis of Rotation... pl go through the topic of rotational motion...
