Good Evening sir In this illustration(38) can't we do it by taking the components of velocity of sphere along the line of impact (normal to rigid plank) and then impulse by plank changes velocity of only that component along impact line and perpendicular component remain unchanged and then apply equation of co efficient of restitution . By this way I got impulse by plank = 2musin(theta)
