  4. Q....Aflat plate is placed normal t0o a discharging jet of water.the jet discharges water at the rate of 0.2m3/s at a seed of 18 m/s.The force on the plate due to the jet,if the collision is inelastic is:???? QUICK PLEASE!!!!

    Density of water = 1000kg/m3 since it is given the pipe ejects 0.2 m3 (volume) of water per second so mass ejected per second is given by mass= 0.2 * 1000 kg/m3 = 200 kg/s. now we know that change in linear momentum equals to force. initial p1 = mv1 = 200*18= 3600 final mometum = 0 ( since it is an enelastic collision) change in momentum = 3600 kg s FORCE = 3600/1 sec = 3600 N thank you.

  6. Sir as we know pressure is inversely proportional to area and according to equation of continuity area is inversely proportional to velocity by this we can say that pressure is directly proportional to velocity but Bernoulli's equation says pressure is inversely proportional to velocity please clear my confusion or doubt

  8. sir what is the meaning of fluid pressure P1 and P2 in the bernoulli's theorem..and how is it performing the work pdelV?? plz reply..

    Ans 1 ->
    it is a pressure volume work W = F.dx *A/A now dx.A is dv and F/A is P.
