  2. but sir don't you think that the potential at the earthed plate is not zero after earthing in your final result as the potential due to charge at its own location is infinite

  4. Sir is plate you have taken is of finite length? Because infinte length plate won't have any zero potential point (not even at infinty ) and hence we can never find out absolute potential. But in your video you have assumed the potential on the plate to be V so it think you have taken a finite plate because for a finite plate potential could be found out as its potential at infinity have is zero for a finite plate. Sir similarly in some books it is written that potential on the capacitor plate is V. Sir then is the capacitor plate also of finite length? Because if it had been infinte then we can never write its absolute potential as we can neve define a point were its potential would be zero. Sir say we assume the plate to be finite then why the books say that the electric field by the plate of the capacitor is sigma/2€0 ? This is the expression for the electric field for infintely long charged plate but we just now said that the plates of the capacitor needs to be of finite length.
