  6. How is 2Tcostheta = lambda*g ??? forces are balanced wrongly. The tension in string is supporting the whole wire and not just a point.

    It does not make any difference when we solve the problem as units gets cancelled out in analysis... it is not affecting the final result... If you wish to explain it theoretically then yes you are right...
