  156. sir in Q. no. 8 of Q. set 1, we are given y in terms of x. And we are said to find (dy/dt) when x=2. Now my solution was, (dy/dt) = (dy/ dx) * (dx/ dt). (dy/dt )= (8-3x^2)* (dx/dt) Now, when x=2, then (dy/dt )= { 8- (3* 2^2)}* (d2/dt ) and since derivative of a constant is 0, therefore (d2/dt ) should also be equal to 0. and therefore (dy/dt )= 0. but then the solution is given something else. Where am I wrong?
    3 years ago by INDRA CHOUDHURY

    dx/dt is the same as velocity as velocity is displacement/time.

    4 years ago by Vivek Kumar Singh
    Ans 1 ->
    its easy first take sin(u) as x then u will have to differentiate x^2 and x^2 differentiation is 2x put value of x= sin(u) then u will get 2sin(u) then differentiate sin(u) which is cos(u) then multiply cos(u) and 2sin(u) = 2sin(u)cos(u) which is also equal to sin(2u)

    7 years ago by Rithik Chopra
    Ans 1 ->
    Angular velocity of one object with respect to other can be given by the ratio of relative velocity magnitude of one particle with respect to another in direction normal to the line joining the two particles to the separation between the two... In the case you mentioned you can check it is coming omega and thats the answer not zero...

    7 years ago by Aman Jain
    Ans 1 ->
    Light has momentum in its particle nature and these particles we call photons which have rest mass zero... momentum of light is not directly associated only with speed of light... it is given as p = E/c where E is photon energies so it is given as p= h/(lambda)... more details about light momentum and its applications we will study in the topic of special theory of relativity which will be uploaded by end of this year....

  558. can i clear iit chemistry by just solving ncert
    8 years ago by gaurav sarmah
    Ans 1 ->
    Not at all. Maybe mains you can clear but advance is too tricky to go just by relying on ncert and in ncert some concepts are not properly explained. I would suggest 'conceptual inorganic chemistry' by prabhat Kumar RC mukharjee for physical and Rk Gupta for organic. Don't expect too much from rk Gupta because it is not the fault of the book that the subject itself is haphazard. Until you complete whole organic chemistry you will not feel confident about solving any book. In physical if want really tough questions then try ranjeet shahi or n avasthi. Don't worry too much reactions in prabhat Kumar. For inorganic reactions just follow ncert because even if you learn all the reactions given in prabhat Kumar they(iit) can still give reactions for which you will be clueless and it's not worth the time you give just for 1 or Max 2 questions. The amount of reactions are enormous. At least there are 300.

    calculus is used by our brain in everyday life. it uses to understand the distance of a vehicle approaching us while crossing the road.It creates a mathematical model and solve the model using calculus to obtain the distance travelled by the vehicle in a given time allowing us to make a decision as whether to cross the road or not

  590. How EMF is generated by time varying Magnetic Field in a NON-CONDUCTING ring? Is it the actual EMF through which current can be flown?
    8 years ago by apoorv agrawal
    Ans 1 ->
    The magnetic flux through a filamentary loop is changing with time. This flux change induces an emf.emf is induced by a changing magnetic flux. If nothing changes the induced emf is zero.
    8 years ago by Kushagra Misra
    Ans 2 ->
    induced emf is produced in every object which is undergoing change in magnetic flux linked to it. However if the object is non conducting induced current will not flow through the object

    Ans 1 ->
    dy/dx=tan$ and since $=0 [$ =0 coz tangent at maxima minima is parallel to x axis} dy/dx=0
    8 years ago by Meghansh Punjabi
    Ans 2 ->
    if you observe any graph except at end points you can easily observe at the point of maxima or minima graph is concave down /concave up ,for example take sin(x), the tangent is parallel to x axis , that shows that angle made by tangent with x axis i.e. inclination angle is zero , its simply shows that dy/dx is zero.

The friction coefficient between the box and the wall is µ = 0.6 and take g = 10 m/s2 Options 1. The acceleration of the box will be 20 m/s2 2. The friction force acting on the box will be 100 N 3. The contact force between the vertical wall and the box will be 100 root5. 4. The net contact force between the vertical wall and the box is only electromagnetic in nature I know that the first two options are true since limiting frictional force on the box (120 N) is greater than the gravitational force (100 N). Also contact force is 200 N, so third option is false. What is the answer to the fourth option ? Is it true or false ? If it is false, what is the nature of other contact forces ?

If there are two functions in product form in which one is of type fif then we use product rule first and for fif differentiation we use chain rule..

  658. Sir i think there is a little mistake in the last question where you took 2 common in the eqn. 2x2 + +6x - 36 = 0. But the error does not affect the answer but the solution of the eqn. will be x=3,-6. If we have to find the min value of the triangle your son. of the eqn. will be wrong.

  660. We use dy/dx to find which physical quantity and what are the applications of that physical quantity?
    9 years ago by Yash Selot
    Ans 1 ->
    dy/dx gives the rate at which variable y changes with variation of x... In physics there are many applications of derivatives like velocity =dx/dt and acceleration = dv/dt and force = dp/dt and many more...

  662. for algebric functions we we can solve these problems without apllying these rules like if y=5x+3 find dy/dx the we solved it as y+dy/dx=5(x+dx)+3 =>by putting the value of y we get dy=5dx hence the value of dy/dx is 5 can we do the same in these trignometric functions?????
    9 years ago by naman tiwari
    Ans 1 ->
    Yes you can solve, this is called differentiation by first principle.. but it becomes too lengthy thats why we use direct results...

  666. a capillary tube is dipped in water vertically. it is sufficiently long so that water rises to max height 10 cm in the tube .The length of the tube inside the water is 25 cms .The lower end of the tube is closed and the tube is taken out and opened again.What length of the water will be remaining in the tube ?
    9 years ago by ramesh nagda
    Ans 1 ->
    50cm as water is held by force of surface tension acting at meniscus and at the bottom... so force becomes twice which can hold double length of column... whereas when tube is dipped... force is only at the meniscus so half length can be held.

  668. in calculating centre of mass of solid hemisphere,while we are considering an elemental disc of mass dm then its distance from origin should not be simply y rather centre of mass of disc which is it should be 4y/3*pi. like u did in case of calculating centre of mas of disc with help of elemental ring, you used y coordinate as 2y/pi.
