  4. Why has sir taken velocity as constant from the beginning of the motion? Wouldn't the particles at first accelerate due to their weight before reaching a terminal velocity??

  10. A tube of length l and radius R carries a steady flow of fluid whose density is p(rho) and viscosity n(eta). The fluid flow velocity depends on the distance r from the axis of the tube as v = v0 (1 - r^2/R^2). Find (a) the friction force exerted on the tube by the fluid (b)the pressure difference at he ends of the tube???
    8 years ago by Shivam Bansal
    Ans 1 ->
    (a) part can be solved by finding (eta)A dv/dr at r=R and (b) part can be obtained by using Poisueille's Equation for an elemental cylindrical layer of radius r and with dr... then integrate it for finding the total flow rate to be taken in the equation... that will give your pressure difference which will be same for all elemental layers...

  14. sir here it it fluid dynamics then how did you directly apply p1= patm +hdg and we cant even apply bernouli's theorem cuz it is applied only for non viscous fluid.. then how do we solve it

  16. Sir u worte viscosity as--==10^-2...,, and took 10^-3 in answer.....
    10 years ago by himanshu rajesh muley
    Ans 1 ->
    because 'poise' is a C.G.S. unit . Since 1 poise = 0.1 poisueille (S.I. Unit) .. 10^-2 poise = 10^-3 poisueille . He just converted it because all other values were given in S.I. units
