  106. Sir in the block-on-wedge example why the acceleration of the block along x direction isis a2costheta-a1 and not a1-a2costheta?
    8 years ago by Mayank Agrawal
    Ans 1 ->
    what a silly question see generally positive x direction is taken as positive and negative x direction as negative for displacement velocity and acceleration here net horizontal acceleration in this direction of postitive x axis thus a2costheta-a1 even if you consider reverse sign convention there is no change in net acceleration

    9 years ago by vishwanath v pai
    Ans 1 ->
    If you carefully see what you are doing... here on big block displacement x is opposite to 6T so you must write -6Tx + Ty = 0 which will give you y = 6x

  120. why will the block A move towards right ? they are not connected just by a string . they are connected by a string passing over the pulley.block A will move upward
    9 years ago by amit kawad
    Ans 1 ->
    As length of string is constant.. blocks will move in such a way that the velocity component of each block along the length of string will be constant... in this way you can see the direction in which block A will be moving...
    9 years ago by Physics Galaxy
