  1.
  2. sir u said to attain equilibrium in 3 charges the charge should not be of same sign but when discussing stable and unstable equilibrium u are using all 3 charges have same sign how
    5 years ago by HARIPRASAD
    Ans 1 ->
    see hariprasad here stable and unstable equilibrium is dealt only for a single charge and in the latter video 12 three charges equilibrium is conidered. Do watch carefully. Hope your doubt is cleared. write further if thereis little confusion

  4. as like charges when bought close repel more so more force is applied due to repulsion when compared to those which are placed far away

  6. sir in case1 i.e considering q2 ve and when displaced towards right then fR >fL since q2 is ve then more will be repulsive force on right side to left side

  8. sir,in the very previous module discussing the equillibrium of 3 charged particles it was mentioned that equiilibrium can't be attainedif 3 charges have the same sign.then how come we justify the explination to the 1st case where all the three charges are positive?
    6 years ago by chaitanya sai krishna
    Ans 1 ->
    said that if equilibrium is only under electrostatic forces then the three charges must not be of same sign whereas in this video we have taken two side charges fixed (external force)... I hope you understand now...

  10. Try to concentrate hear q1 is fixed and free to move so q2 will apply force on both q1 to move but due to we have fix q1 so it will not move and both q1 will apply equal and opposite force on q2 so it will remain in equilibrium.
    7 years ago by RAHUL DWIVEDI
    Ans 1 ->
    so you mean if both q1 are free to move then they will not be in eqilibrium ????

    Ans 2 ->
    exactly rakesh

  12. If q2 is positive how can it be in equilbrium? The previous lecture told us that the sign of all of the charges cannot be same!

    Ans 1 ->

  14. sir if we take two oppositely fixed charges then where would the equilibrium occurs if we keep a -ve or +ve charge with them?
    8 years ago by Mannepalli Vishwajeet
    Ans 1 ->
    when we take two opposite nature fixed charges...the equilibrium is always attained outside the line joining the two charges..suppose we consider the left side charge to be +ve and right to be -ve... now if we take a +ve charge on outside the line joining them...then it would be in unstable equilibrium..and if we take a negative charge it will be in stable equilibrium....and you can check for the other way as well i.e.by changing the polarity of the fixed charges...

    Ans 2 ->
    hope it helps!!!

  16. sir but u tld dat the charges should nvr b of the same sign for 3charges to b in equilibrium know .
    9 years ago by vishwanath v pai
    Ans 1 ->
    Yes if three charges are free then its not possible but in above video you can see side charges are fixed...
